International Women’s Day was first celebrated on March 8th, 1909, in New York City as a way of promoting equal rights for women. On this day each year, countries around the world come together to commemorate female accomplishments and progress toward gender equality.
The tech industry has been traditionally male-dominated, but things have changed drastically over the last few years. Today, more and more women are entering the tech field. According to data from Statista, female representation in the tech industry has steadily increased over the past decade. In 2021, approximately 25% of all tech jobs were held by women – up from 19% in 2011. This is an encouraging sign of progress toward gender equality in this field.
More than ever before, women are making their mark on tech innovation and leadership. Female inventors are creating ground-breaking products that are changing lives for the better.
